Mary Stringer McAfee

Mary Stringer McAfee, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, March13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Lance Merritt officiating. The family will greet friends from Noon until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northside Christian Church, 5024 Northside Drive, Macon GA 31210, Masonic Children’s Home, 1419 Nottingham Drive, Macon GA 31211, or Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon GA 31201.

Mrs. McAfee was born in Macon, GA to the late Thomas Alva and Marjorie Cooley Stringer. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty five years, Earl Hodges McAfee. Mrs. McAfee was a charter member of Northside Christian Church, taught Sunday School and was instrumental in starting the nursery and worked there for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bubber) Adams, Angela McAfee, and Samuel Thomas McAfee IV all of Macon, grandchildren; Clay (Carol) Gledhill, Clint (Stephanie) Gledhill and great grandchild; Thomas McAfee Gledhill all of Macon.
