Martha Lee Sorrow Jones

Martha Lee Sorrow Jones, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New City East Side Church with Rev. Lawrence Robinson and Rev. Kerry Walker officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New City East Side Church, 2360 Gray Highway, Macon GA 31211. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New City East Side Church.

Martha Lee was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Woodrow Wilson Sorrow, Sr. and Martha Lily Deason Sorrow. She was preceded in death by her brother, Woodrow “Woody” Wilson Sorrow, Jr. Martha Lee was a graduate of Miller High School and a graduate of Georgia College where she earned her six-year specialist degree. She was retired from Califf Middle School after thirty years of service. Martha Lee was a devoted Christian and a member for sixty-five years at East Side Baptist now known as New City East Side Church. She enjoyed her time with the Tuesday Morning Quilters group creating quilts for loved ones and charitable organizations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

The family extends a special thanks to Tammy Ussery; who through her loving care and dedication became part of the family.

She is survived by the love of her life of fifty-eight years, Jimmy F. Jones of Gray, daughter, Marci (Cliff) McKeever of Gray, son, Jonathan F. (April) Jones of Gray, grandchildren, Caleb (Brooke) McKeever of Bonaire, Joshua McKeever of Dahlonega, Aaron McKeever of Gray, Ben Johnson of Eastman, Zander Johnson of Gray and Charleston Jones of Gray, one great grandchild, Emersyn McKeever, sister-in-law, Karan Sorrow of Newnan, and several nieces and nephews.
