Maris “Gim” Thombley Luker, 60, of Hawkinsville went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2021. Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Snow’s Memorial Chapel-Cherry Street. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Snow’s Memorial Chapel-Cherry Street officiated by Elder Gary James. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery (North Gate) immediately following the service. Due to COVID, all attendees are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing recommendations.
Mrs. Luker was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Robert Lee and Lois Jean Cheesman Thombley. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She loved making jewelry, cooking, baking, crocheting, plants, antiquing, spending time with the Lord, her neighborhood cats, but most of all looking after her grandbabies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Mrs. Luker is survived by husband, Danny Shane Luker; daughters, Mandy Marie Long and Melissa Nicole Luker (Cody); sons, Dalton Reese Taylor and Joshua Ryan Luker (Emily); grandchildren, Auston Jordan Long, Layla Marie Long, Corbin Andrew Kleshick, Memphis Belle Kleshick, and Shilo Wren Kleshick; brothers, Robert Lee Thombley III (Pat) and Cleon Cheesman Thombley (Polly); sisters, Nancy Thombley Wilcenski (Steve), Martha Thombley Tucker (John); nieces and nephews, John T. Tucker III (Courtney), Jason Tucker (Morgan), Natalie S. Thompson (Scott), Nathan A. Smith, Robert L. Thombley IV (Paloma), Corey A. Thombley, Ellen L. Thombley, Abi L. Thombley, John C. Thombley, Justin M. Thombley; aunt, Norma Thombley Williamson; cousin, Robert Thom Williamson; Gayle “Little Sis” Oberhausen; and many more great nieces, nephews, and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Lois Cheesman Thombley; paternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Martha Johnson Thombley; maternal grandparents, Cleon and Marie Donahue Cheesman; and an aunt, Lavonne Thombley.
