Mae Hall Urban completed her earthly journey, serving our Lord on October, 5th 2024.
She was predeceased by her parents, Chess and Zannie Hall, brothers and sisters John Hall, Belle Hall Miller, Edna Hall Sandefur, Randy Hall and Paul Hall. Also preceded in her death were husband Frank Urban, her beloved son David Eli Ross, son-in-law Mike Gabriel, and daughter-in-law Sue Coleman Ross, Sister in law, Elizabeth (Liz) Urban. She is survived by her children Jeff Ross (Diane), Lyn Ross Gabriel, Kea Ross (Tamara), Kelly Holoman (Monica), Nanette Holoman Birckbichler (Scott), 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mae was born in Swainsboro, Georgia and grew up in Lizella, Georgia. Her many interests included serving as President of the International Women’s Credit Bureau Association and helping to organize the Methodist Outreach Ministry. She was a Methodist Youth Fellowship leader and Sunday School teacher. Mae moved to Southern California in 1976 where she started her own business with creating jet plane manuals for McDonnell Douglas. After retiring back to Lizella, she served for many years as a Lizella United Methodist Delegate Communications Chair, local United Methodist Women’s Macon District President and Vice-President and tutor at W.B. Redding School. God led Mae to Wesley Glen Ministries of the UMC where she served as a volunteer and auxiliary member.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Lizella Methodist Church. Reverend John Irwin and Reverend Kevin Clotfelter will officiate. Private inurnment will be held in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
