L.E. Scandlyn, 88, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Snow’s Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chris Moncrief officiating.
L.E. was born to the late Margarete and Luther Scandlyn Sr. in January of 1936 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy and later worked as a mechanical engineer for BASF kaolin mine before retiring in 1992. L.E. married the love of his life in July of 1961, Mickie Scandlyn. L.E. was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, brother.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mickie Scandlyn; daughter, Missy Sanders; grandchildren, Madison Sanders, Melodie Moncrief (Matt), Mallory Mahoney (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Lauren Bridger, Canon Moncrief, Gabriel Moncrief and Asher Moncrief; and sister, JoAnn Miller.
