Rev. James Miller Jones Sr.

Rev. James Miller Jones, Sr., 91, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. James H. Crafter will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 AM Tuesday before the funeral service.

Rev. Jones was born in New York, New York and was raised by the late Mary Nelson Jones in Augusta, Georgia. He was a retired pastor and V.A.

Chaplain and a veteran of World War II who earned degrees from West Virginia State College and Boston University. Rev. Jones was preceded in death by a sister Edith Roache.

Rev. Jones is survived by his wife, Margaret Jones of Macon; children, Nathlie E. Jones-Urquhart (Marvin) of Chesapeake, VA, Dr. Valerie Jones-Freeman of Macon, and James M. Jones, Jr. of Macon; grandchildren Marvin Urquhart, Jr., Marcus W. Urquhart, and Brandi Urquhart.
