A visitation for Mr. Dell will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Graveside services will occur Monday, July 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery, 66 Madison Street, Macon, GA 31201. Dr. Baxter Hurley, Rev. Tina Cansler Clark, and Chaplain Lisa Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jimmy's memory may be made to Backpack Ministry, Forest Hill Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210 or the donor's favorite charity.
Mr. Dell was born in Macon the son of the late Mary Hose Dell and James Glenn Dell and was preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Dell and an aunt & uncle, Laura Hose Colquitt and L. H. "Monk" Colquitt. He was graduate of the University of Georgia, retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Dell loved to play golf, watch the "Dawgs", loved the beach, and most of all his family.
Mr. Dell is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce Abernathy Dell; children, Laurie Dell, Carl Dell, Jeff Dell (Terri Wetendorf), and Linda Midkiff (Paul); grandchildren, Brad Harris, Jordan Harris, Mitchell Midkiff, Maggie Maddrey (Russell), Ashlyn Dell, Dawson Dell, and Karlie Dell.
