Ethel Annette Hodges Foskey, 85, passed away on August 29, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM until service time Tuesday.
Ethel was born in Turner County, GA on September 3, 1936. She developed an eye disease that caused her to be taken out school at an early age. She was legally blind but went to work in the family cotton field, picking cotton. Ethel was the third member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church in Warner Robins. She went to work in Produce for over 20 years and then kept children at her in home daycare. Ethel loved flowers and was known for her green thumb. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Ethel was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy Blount; son-in-law, Keith Abney; sisters, Evie Marchman and Lois; brothers, Jack Hodges, Alfred Hodges, James Hodges, and Bobby Hodges; father of her children, Havard “Sonny” Foskey.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Abney; grandson, Charles Keith Abney; brother, Charles Hodges; and niece Sharon.
