Danny V. Mitchell

Danny V. Mitchell, 58, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 15, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Paul Whitton and the Rev. Benjamin Newberry will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono.

Mr. Mitchell was born on July 10, 1955 to Earl and Jewel Mitchell and grew up in Crawford County. After graduation from Crawford County High School, he joined the United States Air Force. He was a sports enthusiast and played recreational softball for a number of years for various teams in Middle Georgia. Mr. Mitchell was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a member of Lizella Masonic Lodge. He was a maintenance mechanic with Graphic Packaging and was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local No. 72. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Mitchell of Fort Valley, his mother, Jewel Long Mitchell of Fort Valley and an infant son, Reece Kelsey Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Marisa S. Mitchell; three children, Jarrett, Laura and Clay S. Mitchell of Lizella; two sisters, Cheryl (George) McCranie and Mona (Richard) Tolbert, all of Fort Valley and several nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly by his family and friends and we all look forward to the day we get to hear…..”How’s it goin’, Buuud?”
