Bob Wayne Bohannon, 87, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday in Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate Section. Rev. Paul Dziadul will officiate. A memorial service will be held at Cannon UMC on Saturday, February 20th. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Cannon United Methodist Church, 2424 Webb Gin House Road, Snellville, GA 30078.
Mr. Bohannon was born in Knoxville, TN, the son of the late Prudence Giles Bohannon and Thomas Bohannon. He was married to Helen Headrick Bohannon for 60 years, and was preceded in death by his wife and his siblings, Othie, Tommy, Giles, Geneva, and Marie. Bob Bohannon was a Sergeant in the US Infantry and earned an Army OCC Medal for his service in Germany (1950-52). Mr. Bohannon was a retired sales agent with Bob Bohannon & Associates and a member of the Exchange Club in Macon, GA. He was an active member of Cannon United Methodist Church after serving over thirty years as a deacon at Vineville Baptist Church, Macon, Georgia. Boggy will be remembered best for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his family. He was also a wonderful dancer.
Mr. Bohannon is survived by his sons, Gary (Pat) Bohannon & Michael (Carol) Bohannon; five grandchildren: Amy (Matthew) Moore, Caitlin, Allison, Harrison, and Zachary Bohannon; and two great-grandchildren: Arianna and Elijah Moore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Patricia (Anthony) Fuller of Knoxville, TN.
The family would also like to thank the many compassionate caregivers at Sunrise Assisted Living and Crossroads Hospice in Snellville, GA.
