Betty Ann Miller Manning, 89, joined the Heavenly angels on August 12, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Robbie Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends starting at 1:00PM until service time on Monday.
Mrs. Manning, daughter of the late Major B. and Ada Pearl Miller, was born in Macon, Georgia and was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School. She was a retired Secretary from Robins Air Force Base. For Fifty years, she was a member of Napier Avenue Church of God where she served as pianist. She was also the pianist for Daystar Church for 20 years.
Betty and Willis, her husband of sixty-one years, were featured by Ed Grisamore of the Macon Telegraph as young sweethearts who were partners in all areas of their lives. Betty and Willis were well-known in the Southern Gospel Music Community singing and playing for many weddings, funeral, senior citizens meetings and retirement centers, churches and community events. Probably their most requested song was “I’ll See You in the Rapture.” Everyone who knew Betty, knew first of her love for God, her love for her family, her church and her piano for her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Elliott Manning, Sr.; and her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Bill Manning (Sharon) and Pam Massey (Victor) both of Macon; her beloved grandchildren, Coby Manning, Mark Massey (Candace) and Drew Manning; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family suggest those who wish may make donations to a charity of your choice.
