I was heartbroken when I heard the news...but I stopped and thought of all the love she gave...and received over her career and I smiled. She gave me something that "thank you Babs" just won't cover. I hope they have limitless lipstick in heaven for her...I hope I made her proud...God knows I shocked her enough. All of my love to her family.

I wish she was still here. We know they are in a much better place in the Lord's home, so we rejoice for them in the midst of our heartache.

Dearest Jerry, Carla Allison & Ashlie Dell, This will be difficult for me. How do I begin to express how I felt about this incredible woman who had such a huge impact on my life? I was a young country girl moving to the big city of Macon to start my adult life enrolled in Radiology School at The Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was the first true professional woman I had ever met, and learned quickly the value of being on time, dress in a professional manner (white uniform/white hose/white shoes)and certainly above ALL else NEVER show up without your lipstick on baby. She was beautiful with that red hair, green eyes, and perfect lipstick everytime. She lived the motto "never let them see you sweat". My Radiology class of five was extremely close to her in & outside of school(but in school she was hard on us and we didn't get away with much). She did admit to me that WE were her favorite class of all time (July 1979-1981)sorry and no disrespect to hundreds of former students but we had a connection I cannot explain. She pushed us further than most (we all know that was because Andy was in our class)(the bosses son) and because of that we were better for it and our registry scores were impressive.That morning at Grady Hospital we over heard others talking when they found out what school we were from "NO ONE EVER FAILS THE REGISTRY FROM THAT SCHOOL"! It was ALL we needed to hear before taking that 4 hour test. It was HER teaching, HER intruction that made us who we are are as Radiographers today. She expected excellence, demanded it.She was MY BIGGEST cheerleader. When I came for my interview to school everyone was "beautiful" and leaving that day after I had literally sweat through my dress onto the "slay seat" having endured the interview process with Mr. Brown I remember thinking "well it would have been a nice career to get into". Never in a million years believing I had a chance to be accepted until I received that letter giving me instructions on what day to report for school, what to wear, etc. Later she would always say "he saw something in you". My answer to this day to that is yeah he saw loyalty and someone who would NEVER leave the establishment 1979-to present. I'm still here. Trying to keep the dream alive. At least a little bit of it anyway, the way SHE would want things to be taught.She was a private person, but she never shut me out. I was part of her family always. And for that I will be forever grateful. I got to spend time with her, learn from her, seek counsel on life matters. I treasure my private talks with her to the end of her life on this earth. She was good to me, truly LOVED me. Believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Even now I hear her voice in my head saying "yes you can"! I am selfish to want to keep her here of course. And some nights after the red wine has set in I talk to her (and The Colonel) telling both of them "yes I know, life goes on, don't quit, carry on, keep going, we all must die and face the judgement. But I will miss them for the rest of MY life. I tried to get her to cuss just once (it NEVER happened) I told her it was such a great release of stress sometimes, but of course all I ever got was a "I'll be John Brown"! (whatever that means) and "MY WORD"! Thank you for sharing this incredible woman with me. Thank you for those LAST hours you allowed me in. On a personal note to Jerry I want to say you are a saint and I believe you will have a straight ticket to heaven for being what a true husband should be until the end. In her sickness & her health. She told me you had been a WONDERFUL husband. I saw it myself, and I thank you for every minute you cared for her and waited on her with love. Carla & Ashlie I have had the privilege of watching you grow into two beautiful Christian women, choose your husbands wisely and raise what I know will be a continuation of the legacy your beloved mother would want.When you visit her gravesite and see tubes of lipstick left behind know that I was there, still seeking counsel from my teacher and friend. Dear Family & Friends,
I was saddened to hear of the death of Barbara Wright Mobley, yet filled with joy because she is now in the presence of our Lord & Savior.   There are many words and phrases that can be used to describe this wonderful woman; gracious, kind, compassionate, strength, integrity, devotion, motivated, tough love, determined, Christ like and so many more.  I was a student in the MCCG School of X-Ray Technology (class 1980) and Barbara was the instructor.  Although I learned content related to x-ray from this wonderful woman, I learned a lot from her that was never taught in a textbook.  Since graduation from MCCG, I've obtained Bachelor's, Master's and a Doctoral degree, yet I've never had an instructor make the impact on my life that Barbara Wright Mobley did.  She left an indelible mark on my life and my life is fuller and richer because of me knowing her.  Heaven's gain of this wonderful woman is Earth's loss. A quote by Thomas Campbell summarizes succinctly her life "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die".  She will never die because she will live in our hearts forever.

I was so sorry to hear that Barbara had passed away and I was very glad that I was able to share in the service for Barbara, her family and her friends.  It was a wonderful and moving experience to be in the midst of that level of love, faith and peace.   Best wishes to all who loved Barbara so much and were loved so much by her.

Barbara was my Radiology instructor at the Med Center many years ago.  She was a great teacher and even though hearts are saddened by her leaving this earth, heaven is rejoicing as one of His children is home.  Prayers and Gods many blessings to the family and friends....

Carla, Ashlie, & families,  I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I knew her during her service at New Providence Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Georgia. I remember thinking of how beautiful she was in looks, but most of all in her heart. When my family would visit my Aunt Ruby Williams at New Providence, I always looked forward to seeing Barbara. I want you both to know my thoughts are with you & your families. May your memories of your lovely mother bring you some comfort during this time of sorrow.

I was one of the many students that Barbara taught at the Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology and she taught us so much more than x-ray! She was a true friend and mentor to us and I will be forever thankful to her.  My lifelong career was developed through her.  She was always a Lady and set such a good example throughout her life.

Words cannot express my gratitude to the Lord for this precious friend and mentor. She taught me strength and compassion. She encouraged me and poured the truth and love of Chrsit into my spirit. Oh how happy I am to know that she is standing with her faithful and sustaining Savior, healed and fully restored! I can't wait to worship again with her for eternity.

Barbara's family has our heartfelt sympathy as they walk through "the valley of the shadow of death."  Even when we expect death to come, we generally live in denial and exert every prayer and energy to stave it off.  But the glory of Barbara's life centered in her undying faith in our mutual Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  My mother, Dorothy Brooks Blizzard, and Barbara's mother, Eudelle Barrett were sisters, making us cousins.  We were reared with their examples of Christ-likeness and know that because He lives, Barbara lives, too.  Judy studied under Barbara when she was in training to be a Radiologic Technologist.  Our memories are vivid but our faith in Jesus Christ moreso!  I believe she took her last breath here today and her next one in the presence of our Heavenly Father!  Now she is more alive than ever!  She cannot come back to us, but with her same kind of faith, we all can go to where she is in God's timing.
