Barbara Willis Fowler, 69, joined her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at a local hospital. Graveside services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday in Union Chapel Evangelistic Church Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Lowe and Elder Alton W. Fowler officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and may be contacted at the residence of Sandy Spivey, 103 Kirk Winding Trail, Macon. While flowers will be graciously accepted, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Union Chapel Evangelistic Church, 5500 Marion Road, Macon 31217.
Mrs. Fowler, a lifelong Macon resident, was the daughter of the late James T. and Mattie Pearl Jones Willis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Willis, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bo and Myrtle Hogan. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Union Chapel Evangelistic Church and was a devoted homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life was dedicated to her family and to her friends.
Survivors include those who loved her most, her husband of fifty-one years, William “Bill” Fowler, Sr.; her children, William “Billy” Fowler, Jr., Karen Fowler and Sean (Michele) Fowler; three brothers, Ronald Willis, Ricky (Debbie) Willis and David (Shelia) Willis; two beloved grandchildren, Mandy Fowler and Katlyn Fowler; her precious great granddaughter, Ashlynn; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Glenda Fountain; sisters-in-law, Beulah Bryant, Frances (Bill) Wolf, Mary (Vernon) Shipes and Tina (Johnny) Thompson; brother-in-law Alton (Ann) Fowler.
