Agnes Frances Lester Hatcher, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 3:00 PM in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Paul Lewis officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite children’s charity or organization.
Agnes was born in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Frances Creel and Colon Lester, and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Benjamin E. Hatcher, Jr; brothers; Curtis, Melvin, Leroy, and W.H. Lester; and sisters; Laura Rhoades, Odessa and Jeanette Scott. She was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church where she served in the nursery. Her passion was family and children; always finding a way to help others. Agnes also helped with the Baptist Mission Center.
She is survived by her son, Ben Hatcher; daughter, Betty Jane Hatcher; sister, Levie Mae Fillyaw; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
