Frank was born on December 25, 1938, the son of Homer and Anna Beadnell of Ohio.
Frank was a hard worker starting at the young age of 12 working a paper route every Saturday and sold Sunday papers on a downtown street corner. For a couple of years, he worked at the local bowling alley setting up pins until he earned enough to buy his first car. Now that he had a car, he picked up a job at a truck center fueling semis and eventually worked his way up to servicing cars and trucks.
At age 19, he married the girl next door, Sandy, and they had their first son. Good work was hard to find in those days, so he moved his family west to Illinois at age 20. He picked up a job at a gas station downtown and continued working on cars. He worked at Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet and eventually Humphrey Cadillac and Olds where he worked for 35 years in the used car department as a manager.
During this time, he had two more sons, married Joann, and gained two more daughters.
In 2000 Frank and his son, Bobby started their own general auto repair shop, Forest Hills Automotive which continues to be successful today. Also, during this time, Frank met the love of his life, Lynne, and gained two more daughters.
Frank loved stock car racing. In 1963, he built and raced roadrunners at the Rockford Speedway. Years later, going back to the track with his son, Bobby, to race and be a part of his racing team was a highlight. In more recent years, most Sundays, you could find Frank in his recliner enjoying a NASCAR race.
Frank took pride in his lawn and feeding the squirrels and other critters that wandered into his yard. He had the fattest squirrels in the neighborhood. He was a boat owner and enjoyed boating for many years with family and friends and even floated an Oldsmobile convertible down the Rock River at the annual river raft race.
In addition to being a hard worker, Frank dedicated his life to his family. What everyone remembers most about Frank was his smile, his great laugh and you could always find him with a Bud Light in his hand after a hard day’s work.
Frank is survived by his significant other, Lynne Russell of 23 years, son Robert (Deborah) Beadnell, daughters Elizabeth (Cort) McKee, Toni (J) Baker, Tami Story, Denise Russell, daughter-in-law Cathy Mershon, sister ZoeAnn Kennedy along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his father Homer Beadnell, mother Anna Beadnell, sons Gary and William (Bill) Beadnell Jr, grandson Kenneth Kelley, brothers Donny and Jack Beadnell, and uncle Jack Ammerman.
