Olga Tipton passed away on August 22, 2016 at the age of 72. Olga was born May 4, 1944 in Germany, the daughter of Lydia and Leonard Hauff, both of whom preceded her in death. Olga emigrated from Germany with her parents and family, moving to Rockford in 1957. Olga and her family were members of Second Congregational Church.
Olga was a loving mother and gourmet cook; learning those wonderful cooking skills from her own mother, Lydia, and building on them over the years. Olga’s greatest joys were the times that she could spend with family and friends. Even as families began to move away from the Rockford area for school, marriage, and work obligations, Olga hosted countless wonderful holiday and Summer parties that allowed the entire family the opportunity to reconnect with one another, as well as sample Olga’s delicious cooking. Olga will be deeply missed by all that knew her, but now is free from pain, and is reunited with her parents in the kingdom of our Lord.
When Olga was not with family and friends, she was very visible in the community at various medical and dental front-office positions in the Rockford area. Olga’s smile, compassion, and bright personality were always the first things that patients saw when they walked into the office.
Olga’s loss will be mourned by her children, Troy Tipton (Penny), Steve Tipton, and Christopher Tipton (Lisa), her (4) grandchildren, Emily, William, Nicholas, and Katherine Tipton, her siblings Waldemar Hauff, Anna Martin (James) , Leonard Hauff (Linda),and Nadja Roh (Warren), along with many, many other dear family members and close friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 3 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation at 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial at a later date. To share a memorial or condolence visit sunsetfhmemgardens.com
