Marykay Brovold

Marykay Brovold, 78, of Davis, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024, surrounded by her family. Marykay was born November 17, 1946, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. It was there she met the love of her life, Donald Brovold, and married him in 1964. Marykay loved to tend her flower and vegetable garden. Marykay also baked and cooked as often as she could. If you knew Marykay, chances are you have had a few of her cookies or other treats. She always had a natural talent for crafting, which had many avenues. She enjoyed painting, quilting, and most importantly sewing. She was extremely gifted, and made everything from clothing to teddy bears. It brought Marykay a true sense of joy to create things for others. She was especially proud to pass this talent down to her grandchildren, and teach them this skill. She loved her grandchildren dearly, and the adventures she went on with them throughout the years.

She is survived by her children, Kurt Brovold and Kim (Jersey) Brovold; grandchildren, Jordan (Connor) Price and Sydney Brovold; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Price, Fiona Price, and Tommy Price; siblings, Tom (Janet) Zenner, Mike Zenner, Joanne (Charlie) Bowe, Susie (Dave) Swoboda; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved furry-son, Frankie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brovold; son, Clifford Brovold; mother, Cecelia Burger; siblings, Dean Zenner, Dale Zenner, Delores Gordon, and Sherry Creaker.

A Celebration of Life for Marykay will take place Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Davis Town and County, 412 North Stanton Street, Davis, Illinois 61019.
