Mary Pearl Koeninger

Mary Pearl Koeninger, 84, of Rockford, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Born July 8, 1935 in Linton, IN. United in marriage to George Clarence Koeninger on October 4, 1992 in the Winnebago Courthouse. He predeceased her on September 4, 2018. Throughout her lifetime she was an owner of various restaurants including Koeninger’s Diner and Jackie’s Dutch Cupboard. Mary found great enjoyment in the outdoors either sitting by a bonfire, camping or attending to flowers. She loved to listen to old country music. She loved anytime spent with friends and family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Tony (Jackie) Shields, Tom (Sarah) Shields, Bobby (Angela) Bowersock, Dixie Hackler, Patricia Duncan; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her spouse, George; children, Rodney Eugene Bowersock and Steve Shields; sisters, Shirley and Edna Mae.
