Kenneth Ray Settimi, age 81, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Kenneth was born on February 8, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois to Rosalie (Caruso) and Pietro Settimi. He married the love of his life, Mary Thorson on June 13, 1964 and they spent 61 wonderful years together.
Ken liked to fix things for his family and friends, he enjoyed building things, and working on his farms. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Ken was interested in history and music, especially Merle Haggard. He also liked drinking coffee with his friends at the local Italian clubs. He attended the Lombardi, Venetian, and Verdi Clubs.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Settimi; children, Pete (Donna) Settimi, Andy (Leslie) Settimi, and Kate Settimi; grandchildren, Maria Settimi, Kenneth Settimi, Pete Settimi, and Dan Settimi; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie and Pietro Settimi; and siblings, Flo Huschik and Raymond Settimi.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Kenneth will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115-2277.
