June E. Oakley

June was born on June 21, 1925 in Belvidere, the daughter of Harold and Harriet (Lloyd) Pritchard. She married Maynard Oakley on January 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1993. June lived her entire life in Belvidere and during WWII worked in manufacturing at Woodward-Governor. June later worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s wielding business. She graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1943. June had a very strong faith in God and was devoted to her family.

June is survived by her daughter Donna Hanson of Rockford; granddaughter Staci (Jim) Brannon of Rockford; great-granddaughter Rhiannon Pattison of Rockford; sister Loretta Cullison of Rock Falls; niece Bonnie (Kim) Groharing of Rock Falls; nephew Steve (Becky) Cullison of Hillsboro, IL; various great nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the girls at OSF Hospice for the tender care that was given to June.

A service to celebrate June’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation for June will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
