Jeffery Eugene West

Jeffery Eugene West of Rockford passed away unexpectantly on December 20, 2020 at the age of 63. Jeff was born on September 9, 1957 in Rockford, the son of Lila (Roe) West and Eugene (Donna) West. He was the loving father to Laine (Fiancée Adam), Jarred (partner Ashley) and Holly. Grandfather to Angelique, Landon, Griffin and Wesley; brother to James (Ruby), Jack (Lori), Jay, Jolene (Eddie) Loos and Pam (Gary) Hyser; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff lived life to the fullest, enjoying remodeling, carpentry, woodworking, travel, playing pranks-particularly drawing his signature “Skelvis”, karoke and music especially by Motley Crew and Billy Idol. Most of all, he loved his family and will be forever missed, but we can be comforted with the thought he has now been reunited with two of the people he loved most: his mom Lila and longtime best friend Steve Blodgett.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother Lila West; Uncles Jerry West, Lyle and Dale Roe; Aunts Elsie Mae McGrady and J Ellen Seelhoff; Cousin James McGrady and special longtime friend Steve Blodgett.

Visitation for Jeff will be from 1-2 pm Saturday January 2, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; private family services will follow with Live Stream at www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com. A celebration of life for Jeff will be held at a later date.
