Jean M. Schauer

Jean M. Schauer, 84, of Machesney Park, IL, formerly of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family and with her furry friend, Stella, on her lap. She was born March 19, 1940 in Belvidere, the daughter of Franklin and Marie (Ambrose) Lyford. Jean graduated from Belvidere High School. She married Gerald Schauer on October 1, 1961. Jean was employed as a bookkeeper and went on to work as a Paraprofessional for Rockford and Harlem School Districts. She attended Riverside Community Church. Jean enjoyed beading and cross stitch. She did pottery in her younger years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jean is loved and missed by her children, Chris (Scott) Anderson, Andy (Anita) Schauer and Carolyn (Jason) Adams; grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Coon, Sammantha (Derek) Minnich, Jeff (Mandi) Williams, Araina (Matt) Byrne, Daniel Schauer, Alex (Claudia) Schauer, Katarina Adams and Grace Adams; two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Wyatt; siblings, Frank Lyford, Bob (Nathalie) Lyford, Margaret Gillespie, Betsy (Bob) Vincer and Larry (Linda) Lyford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, daughter Connie and brothers Charlie and Harold.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m- 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Riverside Community Church, 6816 North Second Street, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Community Church.
