James K. Dixon

James K. Dixon, 28, of Rockford, IL, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital. He was born June 28, 1994 in Rockford, the son of Teresa Rahn. James worked at Mosys in Rockford. He enjoyed golfing, basketball and football. James had a passion for making people laugh. He was known to bring people out of some of their darkest times. James loved having a good time and had the best dance moves. He was a family man who loved being a dad.

James is loved and deeply missed by his daughter, La’Mya Griep-Dixon; godson, Damire Spurlin; mother, Teresa Rahn; fiancé, Jordan Lemke; siblings, Tiffany Rahn, Christian Winters, Johnathon Johnson, Sadeq Alkabsh; godbrother, Aarionte Mahone; best friends, Evan Wheeler and Tre McGee; grandmother, Connie Rahn; uncles, Jeffery Smiser and Danny Rahn; bonus mom, Donna Spitzer; several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jadyn Winters and best friends, Tadrick “Teddie” Tate.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 26, 2023. Burial to be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
