Glen J. Wentz Jr. 87 of Rockford IL passed away January 29, 2020. He was born June 18, 1932 in Charles City Iowa to Gertrude (Hunn) and Glen Wentz. Glen married the love of his life, Joyce, on September 1, 1951. They spent 67 loving years together. As a younger man Glen enjoyed waterskiing, and later in his life he became famous for his family vacations to Florida. Glen was committed to his work and spent 42 years working at Sall-Brother’s (Eclipse) as a foundry moulder. He enjoyed watching western movies. And he especially loved spending time with his great grandkids and watching them grow. When he retired, Glen was able to spend 26 years enjoying every day with his wife Joyce. She preceded him on December 22, 2018.
He is survived by his children, David (Sarah Enslow) Wentz, Michael (Dody) Wentz, DeAnn (John) Fultz, Richard (Darlene) Wentz, and Kathryn (Bob) Zadek; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, Charles (Lois) Wentz, Robert (Marion) Wentz, and Carol Rodberg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Valerie Bissman; parents, Gertrude and Glen Wentz; brothers, Kenneth and Ronald; and his sisters, Elaine, Marlene, and Betty Rae.
A funeral service for Glen is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4 at 2PM at Sunset Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 1PM until the time of service. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
