Geraldine Mae Granberg, age 86, of Batavia, Illinois (formerly of Rockford, Illinois) passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024. She was born Monday, August 30, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Martha (Farrey) and Albert Armato. On August 27, 1955, Geraldine married Ronald Granberg at Trinity Lutheran Church of Rockford, Illinois. They spent 63 wonderful years together before he passed in October of 2018.
Geraldine was a part of the LLL Society with her husband Ron. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, and golfing as hobbies. Geraldine collected thimbles.
She is survived by her children, Jeff Granberg, Denny Granberg, and Mike (Noel) Granberg; grandchildren, Megan Granberg and Zach Granberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Granberg; parents, Martha and Albert Armato; and brothers, Gene Armato and Robert “Butch” Armato.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity in Geraldine’s name.
A visitation for Geraldine will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Geraldine will be laid to rest in Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115-2277; Chapel of Peace.
