Doris M Hill

Doris M. Hill, 92, of Rockford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her daughter’s home on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Born May 15, 1924 in Chicago, IL. Daughter of Howard and Hattie (Nehring) Sargent. Married Frank Hill on December 12, 1943. He predeceased her on June 22, 2009. Employed by Amerock for 24 years and during her retirement to stay busy she worked at various stores as their “Demo Lady” handling out samples and coupons. Doris loved traveling and camping along the way, gambling trips and playing bingo, gardening especially her tomato plants. She loved to host parties in her home as her favorite pastime was being surrounded by her family and friends.

Survived by her children; Mike (Marilyn) Hill, Steve (Luanne) Hill and Mary (Steve) Kitzman; grandchildren, Eric (Racheal) Hill, Brandi (Chad) Smith, Kelly (Neil) Klingensmith, Cindy Thompson, Jackie Thompson, Marie Kitzman, Tracy (Tim) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Tyler Smith, Logan Smith, Valerie Thompson, Chelsey Thompson. Predeceased by her parents; spouse; brothers, Irwin (Helen) Sargent and Art (Ann) Sargent.
