Betty Jane Riggle 88, of Rockford passed away March 31, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 18, 1925 in Freeport, she was the daughter of Oliver and Florence (Kohl) Fluegel. January 1, 1946, she married Dale Riggle in Rockford.
A great cook and hard worker, Betty enjoyed walking, playing cribbage, shopping at flea markets, bowling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Dale Riggle; children, Dennis (Carol) Riggle, Donna Markin, Julie (Tom) Reid, Jean (Kevin) Corcoran, and Ron Riggle; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorial service 12 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church
