Mack was born on January 11, 1949 in Mangum, OK to parents Jack R. and Katherine (Patton) Veach and entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2014 at the age of 65. Mack graduated from Irving High School and was a business owner for over 40 years. Mack owned and operated Mack’s Garage (Automotive/Harley repair shops) in Grapevine and Irving until moving his family to Cedar Creek Lake in 1986, where he has owned and operated The Great American Package Store (GAPS) in Gun Barrel City until June, 2014. His greatest love was his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, cooking, reading and having a good, cold beer with family and friends. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, NRA and Mabank Rodeo. He donated time and services to various local businesses and charities. Mack served in The United States Marine Corps, where he was a Lance Corporal. He was Methodist by faith and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mabank, and found true peace spending time in the outdoors with family and friends. Mack was a loving, caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Katie Veach, brother Jack R. Veach Jr., cousin Bert Wilson Montgomery, stepmother Marion Goodier Veach and stepsister Elizabeth Goodier. He is survived by his wife Cathy Lyn Veach of Gun Barrel City, sons Steve Scott Montgomery III and wife Dawn of Gun Barrel City, Chad Wilson Montgomery and wife Lana of Gun Barrel City, Josh R. Veach and wife Katie of Gun Barrel City and daughter Katie Lyn Vitellaro and husband Clayton of Spicewood, TX; grandchildren Hannah, Stevie, Katelyn, Jack, Stella, Autumn and Londyn; sister-in-law Linda Veach of Irving, stepsister Virginia Goodier Triplett and husband Rick of Dallas, stepsister Sandie Goodier Curb and husband Doug of Grapevine; and other loving family and many more friends.
