Johnnie was born on January 9, 1947 in Dallas, TX to parents Robert and Betty Jo (McDowell) Crumpley and entered into rest on September 12, 2014 at the age of 67. Johnnie was known as “Granddad” by his grandchildren. He held his family and J.C. close to his heart. Johnnie was a graduate of Seagoville High School. After graduation he then joined The United States Marine Corp, where he served in Vietnam. He worked in the petroleum business for over 30 years, where he received many employee related awards. Johnnie also worked as a Deputy Constable in Galveston County. He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Roddy, TX and would participate in the monthly singings. Johnnie always had a smile and a warm greeting for everyone. He was a very loving and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, son Johnnie M. Crumpley, grandson Warren Clagg and stepfather Myrl Bailey.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Yager and husband Rusty of Gun Barrel City, grandson Johnnie E. Crumpley II of Gun Barrel City, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, all his Faith Bible Church family, other family members and many loving friends.
