Charline Johnson

Charline Johnson, age 86, of Tool, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Charline was born August 18, 1935 to parents, Leo Wood and Mary Prigmore. She graduated from Kemp High School in 1953, as Valedictorian. Although, Charline would have loved to travel if the opportunity was presented, even with the urging of many family members she never traveled outside the state of Texas in her lifetime. She was a loving and doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; who loved taking care of everyone, especially her great-grandbabies. Charline lived each day to the fullest, by watching nature and cows at the Ranch in Bazette. She found enjoyment in gardening, picking pecans, and even rubbing her finger against a smooth rock. Another favorite past time, is walking to her mailbox to get the Brookshire's Ad. Charline had a sweet tooth, when it came to "Little Debbies" Blue Berry Muffins. The highlight of each day was spending time, catching up with several of her friends on the telephone. Charline will be truly missed by all of those she loved and met.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo Wood and Mary Prigmore; husband, Donald "Buddy" Johnson; sisters, Mildred Deemie and Mary Ann Thomas.

Charline is survived by her son Joe Johnson and wife Laurie of Tool, TX.; sisters, Betty Payne of Wills Point, TX., Barbara Tharp and husband Evan of Gun Barrel City, TX.; brother, Charles Wood and wife Susan of Katy, TX.; grandchildren, Cody Joe Johnson and wife Amanda of Corsicana, TX., Laci Svoboda and husband Jared of Tool, TX., Bobby Montgomery and wife Lindsey of Gun Barrel City, TX., Kody Don Durham and wife Mackensie of Kerens, TX., Donnie Durham II and fiancé Delta Green of Gun Barrel City, TX.; 10 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Luke, Anna, Kady, Mariska, Nathan, Hunter, Heaven, Stewart, Laine, and one on the way; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Graveside service will be held Friday April 1, 2022 at 11:00am; located at the Tool Cemetery.
