Benita King entered into rest on March 31, 2021. She was born on August 11, 1948, in Houston, to Bennie and Frances Hunt. She attended Pleasant Grove Christian School and graduated in 1966 and went on to college where she had some studies in Culinary arts. Benita was a kind hearted woman who cared for everyone and never met a stranger. Benita was also a loving and devoted wife to her husband John. They were married in Pleasant Mount, May 1, 1993 and shared some of the best years of their lives together. Benita enjoyed being in the kitchen, there wasn’t a dish or pastry she wasn’t willing to try. She also loved to teach her grandchildren how to bake. Benita was always the one who made peace within the family, she insisted everyone get along and be happy with one another. Benita was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she shared her love of the Lord with others. She worked as a greeter at the front desk and volunteered her time with Helping hand food bank. Benita could always make you laugh so hard you wanted to cry. She will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
Benita is preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Frances Hunt; husband, John King. She is survived by her sons Charles and Tish Pierce, Eric and Shawna Pierce; grandchildren, JB, Madison, Heather, Shayla, Colton, Will, Tyler, Drake, Raven, Kylie, and Rylie; great grandchildren, Zoe, Mia, Shamus, Ryan, Dakota, Evalie, and Grayson; sister, Leeann; brother, Alan. Benita also leaves behind numerous family and friends.
