Judy Ann Mortensen

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Steve Mortensen, her daughter Jennifer Bartleson, and her sister Joan Howard. She is survived by her children, Rick (Claudia), Sharon (Steve), son in law Eric and her sister Myra (Dave), 3 Granddaughters, 5 Great grand children, and her mother in law, Peggy Watters. She also leaves behind many In laws, nephews and nieces, and friends.

Mom was raised in Seattle and graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1957. She married the love of her life, Steve Mortensen on October 5th, 1962, and they resided in Snohomish county, and raised their 3 children in Lynnwood. Mom was an accountant for 26 years with Fredrick & Nelson and worked there until the store closed in Seattle. Mom and Dads’ favorite past time was square dancing with the Dudes & Dolls in Lynnwood. She had a great love for country music. She collected Salt & Pepper shakers since the late 1950’s and had a huge collection. Mom and Dad always looked forward to our annual family vacation at Lake Curlew in Eastern Wa.

Mom was a devout Christian and remained a member at Advent Lutheran Church in Mill Creek. She loved sewing her annual calendars with sequins to give out to family at Christmas time. After Dad passed, Mom became involved with the Edmonds Food Bank , and made many friends there. She always looked forward to going to the lunches, movies, and especially the casino’s together. She was very fond of all of them. She loved watching her QVC, and started collecting many special dolls, especially Marie Osmond dolls. Occasionally, Mom loved reading books and would often read 2 or 3 books at a time.

Mom adored, and of course spoiled her dog, Sammie. She looked forward to her cruises to Alaska, and enjoyed them very much. Mom really loved getting together with family, especially at Christmas.

Mom will be missed dearly, and will be in our hearts forever. A celebration of her life will be held on January 23rd at 1:00pm and viewing will be prier to the service at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd. Lynnwood. 98036. A reception will be held immediately after the service.
