It has been a year since your body left us, but your spirit of kindness, tough-mindedness, self-determination and perseverance lives on in all of us who loved you and were privileged to know you.  And always will.  Rest in Power, Judy! 🕊

This picture is of a woman holding a Nutcracker! My name is Patty and I worked with Judy at CDS . I usually have  a Christmas party every year and this is the Nutcracker that Judy brought as a gift to my mother! She loved it and treasures it to this day! It is a very special memory of Judy and I will never forget it and the look on my Mother’s face when she received it!

I was so sorry to hear about Judy’s passing. I knew Judy for almost 18 years. We were the best of friends. We went to many movies,plays and dinners together. We spent many nights watching all her great PBS shows she had recorded. Our favorites were Faulty Towers, Doc Martin and Call The Mid wife along with others. We always had our little healthy dessert during the shows. She would always remind me about my diabetes 2. She would say you’re a number 2 and I would say that’s crappy thing to say and we would both laugh. I will miss my great dancing partner and one of my best friends greatly!

Senior year 1965 …. Shoreline High School

Years ago when we still had a land line we had one of those phones that had a built in answering machine. You remember the type, they had a lighted display that would tell you how many messages you have. To save memory on the machine messages were limited to something like four minutes. One day we came home and saw that we had three new messages. The first one was from Judy, who talked for four minutes and got cut off. Undaunted, she simply called back and continued her story, chatting and laughing until she used up the next four minutes. It was as if she was sitting with us but she was doing all the talking. One final call was necessary for the conclusion.
How I wish that I still had that recording now. Just to be able to listen to her voice and that wonderful unique laugh.
I have never met any of Judy’s beloved customers from the salon. But I bet that the best part of getting your hair done was visiting with her. She was so easy to know and talk to, and so funny!
We’re all going to miss her.

Judy loved her tea. Anytime we got together she would brew some tea, then take some time to sit and talk. Now I am reflecting on how precious those moments were.
I am going to start drinking more tea. And when I am holding my mug, inhaling the aroma and feeling the warmth in my hands I will be smiling and thinking of Judy.

What can you say about a woman who made a positive difference in every life she touched?  I had the pleasure of being Judy's tenant and friend for over a decade.  Judy loved her home, her family, her friends, her garden and especially her felines!  A person always knew where they stood with her, and maybe that's the biggest gift of all.  I will miss her, and I will remember her.

OH MY❗️  we met in third grade.. kindred spirits right off❗️  forever joined at the hip & heart… I’m wrecked  without you … 💜     We did “everything”  in life together;  ballerinas - grew up -double double dated -stood up at each other’s wedding- had babies .  holidays-with hubbys & our children . … vacations.. danced -laughed… cried.   And a gazillion things more😊     You’re forever a part of me JudyJ …. Jan (Judi) 
Jan had love and confidence like none other. One of my most cherished memories of Jan was when we were walking with her little dog, Petie, one afternoon. Out of nowhere, two huge dogs came running towards us. I panicked and grabbed Petie. Jan, being the brave person she was, didn’t hesitate and stepped in between us and the dogs. She then grabbed this huge dog by the jaw and told him to “knock it off”. In that moment, not only had she calmed the situation, but she made a friend- as that dog just rolled over, begging for belly rubs. Jan just had a way with animals and people alike. She will be forever loved and missed.

There is not one specific memory that sticks out, but there are many, many memories that resonate in my heart when I think of Jan. She always made me feel so loved. Every time I saw her I was greeted with a hug and a kiss and she never forgot to tell me how much she loved me. She always looked out for me and my daughter and would often give us little gifts that made her think of us. She was also so good with animals. She played “tag” with my rescue pit bull, gave her kisses and would have never thought to judge her for her breed. Her continuous love and kindness throughout the years will forever be in my heart. She will always be with us and we will forever cherish the times we had together. Love and miss you Jan.

I remember your Mom in my exchange high school year in Snohomish as very loving Mom who cooked us the Best Pasta (Spaghetti Bolognese 🍝) I‘ve ever eaten on the other side of the pond :-) And it was not only the pasta but the very warm welcome and I still picture Judy Ann standing on her isle seeing and smelling this delicious pasta taste while us teenage girls are talking and laughing and reflecting on our life’s. Thank you Judy Ann for this shared dinner experience a long time ago in 1989 which made me really feel like home.

Judy invited me to go with her to see Arlo Guthrie at a venue in Seattle in the late ‘80’s / early’90’s. It remains high on my list of amazing concerts that I’ve attended over the years. We had such a good time together and I will always remember the fun we had that evening. 
She loved music. Dance away Judy Ann. God  bless. You are missed.

My favorite Judy memory - When I was maybe 10 or 11, my sister and I got to have a sleepover at Aunt Judy’s - just the two of us without our parents. I vividly remember having thin crust pizza for the very first time and dancing to a live jazz band. She had a way of making us feel so special and grown up. I will always remember her warmth, incredible style and our shared love of animals. Love you, Aunt Judy. ❤️
