George attended Juanita High School in Kirkland. After school, he served four years in the US Navy. Then George began his 33-year carreer in the construction industry. He was a proud member of the International Union Of Operating Engineers Local 302. He truly loved his job and we were told many times that he was one of the best in his field.
He was a great outdoorsman. He loved hunting, but his greatest passion was fishing. Nothing put a bigger smile on his face than holding up "the big one."
George also enjoyed building and flying his remote controlled airplanes. Another passion of his was cooking—and we must say, he was fantastic at it!
His big smile and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. You left us way too soon, but rest in peace dear one, until we meet again.
George is preceded in death by his dad Joseph N. Gifford.
He is survived by his mother Maralene M. Gifford; father Ronald Pettygrove; brothers Timothy Gifford ( Sharon), and Mark Little; and sister Carron Knight (John), also survived by aunt Patsy Kuczi (Mike); uncle Walter Gifford (Linda); aunt Mildred Fleming; niece Carlie Decock (Scott); nephews Brandon Gifford (Claire); Tyler and Brody Hovatter; great-nephew Cohen Decock; cousins Michale Kuczi and Carol Hardy (Tyrone); last, but not least, your little dog Sugar Baby-2 who doesn't understand why you haven't come home yet.
We love you, and miss you, today and always.
I Give You This One Thought
I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still,
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone.
I am with you still,
In each new dawn.
