Teresa Dorothy Dumont

Born in Lynn, Teresa was the daughter of the late Aristide & Louise E. (Benea) Garuti. She was a life-long resident of Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the Class of 1948. She worked as a bookkeeper in shoe sales for many years at Pla- Moc, Benson Shoe, Jacob Shoe, Tempo-Shain and Sheehan Sales. She surely loved her job!

She was a dedicated member of Holy Family’s Ladies Sodality and attended 4:00 PM Mass at St. Pius V every Saturday. She volunteered for many years at St. Pius V School reading to children while her grandchildren were enrolled there.

She loved playing cards and bowling with friends; traveling with her sister Maria, and crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed watching cooking shows such as Ciao Italia, mystery shows, and old shows on “ME Tv.” She enjoyed reading, especially Mary Higgins Clark books. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family, and having her grandchildren sleep over every Friday night.

Teresa is the devoted mother of Roger Dumont Jr. of Florida, Teresa “Tess” McGann & her husband Thomas “Tom” of Lynn, and Gregory “Greg” Dumont & his wife Karen of Boxford; the loving sister of Maria Garuti and Richard Garuti and his wife Meryl, both of Lynn; and the cherished grandmother of Melissa Dumont and her partner Eric Smith of Lynn, Eva and David Dumont of Boxford. She was the aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Teresa is predeceased by her son Robert “Bob” Dumont, and brothers Joseph, Robert and Thomas Garuti.

Friends and Family are invited to Teresa’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Teresa’s memory to Care Dimensions, www.caredimensions.org.
