Sharon E. (Estes) Duyon, age 81, passed away October 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family following a seven-year courageous battle with cancer and debilitating strokes. Born in Lynn, MA on April 13, 1943, Sharon attended Saint Pius and Saint Mary’s Schools. She was a single mom with three young boys when she met the love of her life, Joseph A. Duyon. Sharon and Joe raised their family in Middleton, MA and had many happy years together before they retired to Stuart, FL. Sharon was an administrative assistant for many years while raising her family. She was a devout member and Sacristan at Saint Agnes Church in Middleton, MA and Saint Andrew Church in Stuart, FL. Sharon volunteered at Light of the World Charities and went on several mission trips. Sharon was a member of Sweet Adelines where she sang competitively. Sharon will be remembered for her remarkable strength, humor, wit, grace, and unwavering spirit. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly, enjoyed dancing, singing, and crafting.
Sharon leaves behind her two sons, Richard J. Sullivan of Haverhill, MA and Joseph E. Sullivan and his wife Barbara of Groveland, MA, brother Richard Estes and his wife Sue of Florida. Sharon was a loving grandmother to Alex Turner, Cory Sullivan, Brendan Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Morgan Sullivan, Marina Sullivan, Liam Sullivan, Brady Sullivan and a great grandmother to Levi Sullivan. Sharon held a special place in her heart for her god-daughter Breena Sullivan. Sharon was particularly close to her first cousin Gloria Kozlosky, who Sharon considered a sister. Sharon is also survived by many step-children, step-grandchildren, in particular Jennifer Duyon, Nicole (Duyon) Lyon, and Danielle Duyon who were very close with her. Sharon loved her Pineault cousins and will be missed by so many other family and friends.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Duyon, her son John F. Sullivan III, and her parents Rita and Richard Estes.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Alliance Health at Rosewood for their exceptional care, love, and compassion during Sharon’s time there.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 7 at 10:00 am in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
