Retired Lynn Police Officer Ronald H. “Ron” LeBlanc, age 75, of Lynn, died Thursday morning in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn J. (Barry) LeBlanc, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, Ron was the son of the late George and Ernestine (Pelerin) LeBlanc. He enlisted in the Army National Guard of the United States and proudly served from 1954 to 1956.
Ronald was appointed a Police Officer in the Town of Saugus on May 1, 1972 and then transferred to the Lynn Police Department on March 17, 1973. He retired on March 31, 1980.
He was a member of the Andover Sportsmen’s Club and was also a former member of the Cyntenny Club of Peabody and the Lynn Police Relief Association. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, traveling and antiques.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, George LeBlanc and his wife Linda and Ronald LeBlanc all of Lynn and Sharon Boaman and her husband Michael of Beverly. He was the brother of Anthony Doucette and his wife Fran of Ware, NH and Kathleen Vinneau of New Hampshire. He was the Grandfather of George LeBlanc, Jr., Matthew, David, Christopher and Amanda LeBlanc and Craig, Brett and Jason Boaman. He is also survived by his great granddaughter, Chloe Boaman and his dog, Benji. He was the brother of the late Edmore LeBlanc, Mary LeBlanc and Violet LeBlanc and father in law of the late Tammy LeBlanc.
Ron’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends invited.
