Born in and raised in Lynn, Michael was the son of the late Edwin and Irene (Wade) Farrell. He was the devoted father of Mary-Kate Farrell and her companion Eric Stevenson of Amesbury, the dear brother of Richard Farrell and his wife, Kathleen of Lynn and the late Patricia Farrell. The cherished uncle of Dawn Marie St. Claire and Stacey Toomey and her husband, Michael both of Maine and Kevin Farrell of Lynn. The loving step-father of Jennifer Dolan and her husband, Robert of Hinsdale, IL, and Nancy Fox of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by extended family members, including a great niece and nephew, step-grandchildren, and many cousins.
Michael graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the class of 1963. He worked for General Electric for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of IUE-CWA Local 201 and a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 10, Lynn.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family who were always entertained by his love of Irish music, the countless Elvis concerts, binge watching the Quiet Man, his passion for painting, sometimes paint by numbers passed off as originals and his keen sense of humor. Although, his greatest joy in life was fatherhood and his treasured daughter Mary-Kate.
Michael was also a Member of Alcoholics Anonymous, with 42 years of sobriety. Over the years, he was active in his service work in AA and through thousands of cups of coffee and pastries shared his experience, strength, and hope. His Catholic faith was always central in his life too.
