Maura "Grammy" Casey

Maura Jane Casey, 70, of Saugus, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. Born in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth E. (Wall) Casey. She grew up in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School, class of 1970.

She was the devoted mother to Amanda and her husband Michael Calabro, and the cherished grandmother of Zachary and Mia Calabro. She is also survived by a very large group of cousins, but especially Bonnie Souppa and Kathleen Stiles, who were more like the sisters she never had. She is predeceased by her brother Laurence Casey.

She loved doing puzzles and was very artistic. She loved Christmas and would always go crazy with decorations, and painting mirrors with snowmen for everyone to see.

Maura’s biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She took them to the park, to swim at the pool, she loved playing board games, and reading them books. She supported them with all their activities whether it was basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, or cheer. She was always their biggest fan and absolutely loved being a Grammy.

She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
