Mrs. June A. (Cushing) Solimeno, age 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughter and grandchildren. She was the devoted wife of the late Rocco Solimeno whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, June was the daughter of the late William G. and Etta F. (Lathe) Cushing. She graduated from Lynn English High School Class of 1941.
June enjoyed spending time and traveling with her extended family and friends. Some of her favorite memories of her travels were her cruises all over the world. In addition to traveling, June enjoyed gambling and casinos, ranging from playing the slots to cards to even betting on the occasional football game.
June’s life revolved around her family. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was her husband and family’s rock and backbone.
June is survived by her daughter, Jean “Jeana” Geary of Salem. Grandmother of Rocco and Tyler Geary. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Sydney Cushing, Horace “Pete” Cushing, Helen Allen and Claire Champoux.
June’s Memorial Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn, on Friday at 12PM. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
