Joseph F. Moran

Joe was the beloved husband of Yvonne (Rutten) Spinosa –Moran with whom he shared over 28 years of marriage and the late Mary T. (Sheedy) Moran with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Mary (Moran) Parshley; He graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the Class of 1938. Joe served as a Corporal in the Army Air Force during WWII and was a veteran Patrolman of the Lynn Police Department for over 34 years prior to his retirement in 1980.

Joe was the loving father of Michael W. Moran and his wife, Cindy of Hampton, NH, Susan Waters and her late husband, Dana of Maryland, the late Robert J. Moran, and the late Joseph F. Moran, Jr. and his wife, Radmila Moran of Maine; the cherished grandfather of Jessica Waters-Ward and her husband, Douglas of Washington, DC, Kelly Clayton and her husband, Richard of Maine, Michael Moran of Hampton, NH, Peter Moran of California, Julian Moran of Maine and Marina Walker and her husband, Jason of North Carolina; and 9 great-grandchildren; the dear brother of the late John McKenzie and the late Winifred Mundy and the uncle of several nieces and nephews. Joe was the step father of Salvatore Spinosa and his wife, Debbie of Vermont, Michael Spinosa and his wife, Lili of New Hampshire, Vernon Spinosa and his wife Missey of Maine, Melinda Constanzo and her husband, John of reading and the late Steven “Cosmo” Spinosa.

Joe was a member of the Lynn Police Relief Association, Local Police Union, Post 507 Lynn VFW, Post 6 American Legion, Lynn Knights of Columbus the UCT, Past Secretary Treasurer.

Joe’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 16th, at 10:00 a.m. from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 15th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
