Born in Lynn on August 8, 1930 to the late Fred N. and Lillian (Brigham) Kelly. Gladys attended Lynn Classical High School, graduating with the Class of 1948. She lived in Lynn most of her life with several years spent in Florida and Georgia.
She worked as a receptionist for Alex. Brown and H.C. Wainwright & Co., two brokerage firms located in Boston, until her retirement in 1987. Gladys enjoyed traveling and was an avid bingo player and Red Sox fan, however her favorite time spent with her special granddaughter, Melissa Lunden.
Gladys is survived by her loving sons Richard L. Alfonsi, Stephen S. Alfonsi, Patrick K. Alfonsi, and Brian “Buddy” K. Alfonsi; her beloved daughters Marilyn Welch, Sue Lunden, and Jeanne Alfonsi; her cherished 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her children Diane Ray, David K. Alfonsi, Thomas M. Alfonsi, and Michael J. Alfonsi; her sisters Madeline Anderson, Marion Ridolfi, Dorothy Diamond, Muriel Smith, and Irene McCafferty.
Gladys’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
