William Bryant Smith

Born June 25, 1932 in North Carolina, he was the son of the late William A. Smith, Jr. and Mary P. Smith. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a welder for thirty seven years and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

“Pop” was a devoted husband, caring father and grandfather who enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR Racing and NBA Basketball. He also loved to go fishing as often as possible with his son and grandson. His wit and great sense of humor will be sadly missed by his loving family.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of over sixty four years, Audrey C. Smith; a brother Buddy Smith; a son, Dean S. Smith and wife Betty, grandson, Derek B. Smith and wife Michele, two granddaughters, Stacey S. Keesee, Amanda C. Hansen and husband Corey; three great granddaughters, Allison McVey, Olivia Keesee, and Ava Hansen as well as one great grandson, Cooper Hansen.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Marie Kelly and her husband Ralph, and his sister in law, Kathy Smith.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 10, 2017 at Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Dave Heerspink officiating.
