Lynn Beth Feinman

Lynn Beth Feinman passed away on April 23, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1951 in Washington, D.C. Lynn was the daughter of the late Edward Ronald Feinman and the late Maxine Oppleman Feinman. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph N. Feinman, Deborah W. Feinman, Isadore P. Oppleman, and Zelda T. Oppleman; and by her nephew, Jacob R. Feinman.

Lynn was raised in Lynchburg from a very young age and graduated from E. C. Glass High School. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in art history and education from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1969 where she became an ardent Red Sox fan -- so pleased with Fenway Park's proximity to Simmons. Lynn loved art, photography, horses, anything purple, science fiction, and giving back to her community.

She began her career in marketing research, first with a full-service research firm, and then began a long career with the Kenner Products toy company, and its successor Hasbro, Inc. Kenner took her to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she became and remained a staunch Bengals fan. It was there she took up riding in earnest, eventually owning her own horse, and competing often in local dressage competitions. Lynn volunteered most weekends at Cincinnati's Findlay Market, and she also combined her desire to be of service with her love of chocolate by serving as a passionate volunteer, organizer, and supporter of Cincinnati's annual Chocolate Festival in its early years.

Lynn decided to make a late life career change and moved back to the Boston area (never having stopped being a Red Sox fan), where she obtained her Master of Science in Elder Care Administration from Lasell University in 2009. She then served in the Newton, Massachusetts Department of Senior Services as an Aging in Place Project Manager, and also as a Referral Specialist for the Weston Council on Aging in Weston, Massachusetts.

Lynn moved back to Lynchburg in 2016 with her beloved rescue dog, Katy, where she continued to volunteer, both as a regular election day worker, and more importantly to her, as a volunteer at Brook Hill Farm in Forest, Virginia. At Brook Hill she renewed her desire to serve by assisting with their therapeutic riding program, helping those less fortunate than herself, and was able to begin riding once again - in her 70s!

Lynn is survived by her brothers and sister, Ron Feinman (Kathe), Amy Z. Feinman, and Paul J. Feinman (Paula); by her nephews and niece; and by her two dearest and lifelong friends, Donna Whitlock and Cary Morrill.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Beth Joseph Cemetery with Rabbi Harley Karz-Wagman officiating.

The family will host a reception following the service at Agudath Shalom Synagogue.
