Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late John Berry Silby and the late Annie Silby Silby.
Gaynell was a faithful member of Eternal Baptist Church and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by four children, Lois W. Lawhorne and her husband, Ben, the Rev. Sidney B. Wade and his wife, Shelby, and Dennis M. Wade, all of Madison Heights and Shelby W. Hall and her husband, Robert, of Evington; one sister, Dorothy S. Logwood of Lynchburg 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 29 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Eternal Baptist Church Dr. Sidney Wade, Rev. Jeff Wade and Rev. Dennis Wade. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Whitten Park Ave. Chapel.
