Edward Wayne Rosser, Sr., 74, of Rustburg, passed away, Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Avante’ Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Janet Glass Rosser. Born February 10, 1940, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Edward Earl Rosser and the late Myrtle Smith Rosser.
Wayne was a retired owner and operator of the Fort Avenue Amaco Service Station for nearly 40 years. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Wayne was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta Jett.
Wayne is survived by his children, Stephanie, R. Tyree and her husband Danny of Rustburg and Edward “Bubba” W. Rosser, Jr. of Evington; three siblings, Connie Wilson and her husband David of Evington, Chris Rosser of Lynchburg and Randy “Bo” Rosser, also of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Brandon Wayne Rosser, Tyler Blake Rosser and Amanda Hollie Tyree; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Jett of Lancaster, Lee Glass and his wife Barbara of Madison Heights and Preston Glass and his wife Linda of Rustburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Following the visitation, the family will follow in procession to the graveside service at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. David Rowland officiating. Graveside service will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Lockridge and the entire Nephrology team of Lynchburg, UVA Dialysis, Lynchburg General Hospital’s Renal/Diabetes unit, the Delta Response Team and the entire staff at Avante’ of Lynchburg for all they did for Wayne.
