Daryl Wayne Pitts, 57, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Connie Pitts.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, September 7, 1952, he was a son of the late John Nelson Pitts and Alma Gertrude French Pitts.
Daryl was a graduate of Liberty University and had served as director of a Rapha Treatment Center in several areas of the country for 10 years. Since 1999 he has served at Thomas Road Baptist Church as the Counseling and Recovery Pastor. Additionally, he was the founder and director of the Freedom Ministry recovery groups through Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Reagan Pitts and Morgan Pitts both of Lynchburg; his father and mother-in-law, George E. Burnham, Jr. and Eva Louise Burnham of Powhatan and his sister-in-law, Karen Louise McLane of Atlanta.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August, 9, 2010 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service unitl 8:30 p.m.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the MDA, Professional Park One, 4502 Starkey Road, SW #107, Roanoke, VA 24018.
