Born in Charlotte, NC, September 5, 1958, she was the daughter of the late John Houston Clodfelter and Nancy Ann Corbett Clodfelter. Cheri was a very loving and giving person. She always put the needs of others before herself. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Timothy Wayne Grant who she affectionately called Baby Doll; her son, Michael Stephen Tate and his wife Gina of Charlotte; two daughters, Dana Hamrick of Charlotte and Samantha Marie Cash of Rustburg; her step-son, Drew Grant and his wife Ashley of Pigeon Forge, TN; two brothers, John H. Clodfelter, Jr. of Sylva, NC and Jason Craig Clodfelter and his wife Teresa of Belmont, NC; seven grandchildren, Miles Tate, Keegan Tate, Kaydance Grant, Drew “DJ” Grant, Jr., Tabitha Grant, Nicholas Grant and Dylan LaMotte and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by very special longtime friends, Andrea Bradley, Jan Worthley, and Calvin Davis.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 12 Noon Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Concord with Pastor John Sines, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
