Adam Brett Sturgill

In Loving Memory of Adam Brett Sturgill March 9, 1982 - July 6, 2023 Adam Brett Sturgill, beloved son of Paul and Donna Sturgill of Evington, VA, entered eternal rest on July 6, 2023, at the age of 41. Brett is survived by his parents who provided him with a nurturing environment that allowed his kind and compassionate nature to flourish. Brett is also survived by his grandmother, Alta Pugh, and was predeceased by grandparents, Archie and Pearl Sturgill, and Paul Gilbert Pugh, Sr. Brett is also survived by aunts and uncles, Joan (Terry) Shutt, Mark (Tracey) Pugh, Kathy Plourde, Penny Dooley, and Paul (Marlene) Pugh, Jr. and numerous cousins. Brett's faith played a central role in his life, and he was a devoted and faithful member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. One of his cherished roles was singing in the church choir, where his beautiful voice and deep passion for music enriched the worship experience for all who heard him. Brett's love for God was evident in his dedication to his church family and his desire to serve others. Brett grew up in Bowie, Maryland and moved to Lynchburg to attend Liberty University where he earned a B.S. in Communications. He then began working at J Crew where he worked up to Communications Coordinator in the Training Department. Brett's coworkers have been touched by the impact he made within their workplace. His dedication and strong work ethic earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues. He will be greatly missed not only for his professional contributions but also for the genuine connections with his coworkers. The highlight of Brett’s early years was Boy Scouts and attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Also, he had wonderful memories of four mission trips with his youth group from Grace Baptist Church in Bowie, Maryland. Brett was also an avid sports fan especially for his beloved Washington Nationals, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. The outpouring of condolences and heartfelt messages from friends, acquaintances, and community members is a testament to the impact Brett had on the lives he touched. As we say goodbye for now to Brett, we are left with the assurance that Brett is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and that we who have trusted Christ will see Brett again for all eternity. A visitation prior to the service for Adam will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1 Mountain View Dr, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2:00 PM.
