Jonathan “Jon” Clark Page, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Gautier, Mississippi surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 17, 2023. Jon was born on June 17, 1957, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Henry Clark Page, II and Jeanette Fairley Page of Beaumont, MS.
In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his sisters, Diana Page, and Jeanette Page; and brother, Timothy Clark Page.
He is survived by his daughters, Brandi Page Gunter (Bo), of Gautier, MS, and
Kristen Page Short (Chris) of Baton Rouge, LA; siblings, Henry “Clark” Page, III (Melody) of Agricola, MS, and Julie Page Entrekin (Todd) of Petal, MS; and four grandchildren, Addison Faith Gunter, Myleigh Jeanette Gunter, Riley Page Short, and Thomas Colton Short.
Jon began his working career early in life going around the neighborhood cutting grass and helping build and work on the family’s shrimp boat “Sweet Thang”. He was primarily a boilermaker, welder, and electrician by trade, but really, he could do it all and did just that. He worked at various locations around the country with Ingalls Shipbuilding, Chevron, and Chicago Bridge and Iron being the most memorable. Unfortunately, his working career ended early in life when he was disabled on the job at the early age of 42. God had other plans for his life, which was being a caretaker for his mother, Jeanette, and brother, Tim. He missed being able to work and dreamed about it often, but he knew he was doing for his family just what he needed to do and wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s who Jon was. He loved his family fiercely and they always came first including his girls, Brandi and Kristen. His legacy will live on in his daughter's by instilling that love and loyalty of family. Jon loved to sing, dance, and have a good time. He was always the life of the party and could always be found with a coke or Budweiser and Marlboro in his hand. He would be having a conversation and would burst out in a song or make one up. He enjoyed being on the water, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. If he had the choice in his destination, he was taking the back roads and he and his girls had many times spent driving on those backroads together. He also loved his grandchildren. He would pick Addison and Myleigh up
from school and bring them to his house where they would raid his goody bowl and do homework together. He once took them to McDonald’s after school and they thought he was supposed to take them every day after that. When he told them he didn’t have money to take them, Addison lifted up his center console and said you have money in here pawpaw, pointing to all the change. All of his kids were called punkin, and he was dubbed pawpaw punkin. Truth be told, his grandchildren Riley and Colton are what kept him going as Kristen was pregnant with them both times he was in the hospital. He was determined that he was going to be here to see all of his babies. He fought a good fight and fought till the very end.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at White Funeral Home in Lumberton, MS where family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time.
